- Your name and home address is used to send you our journal, The Irish Genealogist, annually,
- When you activate your membership via our website you create an online profile with a username, password and geographical location, all of which allows you to access exclusive member content online and participate in the Members’ Forum.
All of your personal data is stored securely and is never shared with any other third party organisations, unless it is required in order to fulfil our obligations in the provision of member benefits. We never confer permission on third parties to use your personal data for their own marketing purposes.
We do not hold any financial data regarding your membership. All such transactions take place securely beyond our systems either via Paypal or via your own bank e.g. as either a standing order or a direct payment.
Removing your personal data or changing your contact preferences
Should you choose to cancel or not renew your membership, we will remove your personal data from our current membership database. For statistical purposes and to help us direct activities that might attract new members in the future, we maintain a separate, permanent membership roll noting your name, town, country and dates of membership, but which does not contain any other personal contact information. You can request changes to your contact preferences or ask for your data to be removed from our non-permanent databases at any time by completing the contact form on our website.
